Four rules, all of them obvious.
Say that you are a partner. A one line disclosure wherever you share your link. Your audience deserves it and the law in most places requires it.
Do not bid on our name. No paid search on Distful or misspellings of it, and no pages built to look like ours. Rank for your own name.
Do not refer yourself. Your own accounts, your own company and your own clients' accounts that you manage are not affiliate referrals. Agencies have their own terms for exactly that.
Do not promise what we do not. No invented results, no coupon codes, no cashback. Everything on this site is what you can say. If you want to say more, ask us first.
Partner questions
How much do affiliates earn?
30% of every payment a customer you referred makes during their first 12 months, whatever they buy. That includes single campaigns, monthly plans, extra source assets and upgrades. A Team customer who stays the year is worth about $716 to you. There is no cap and no tier to unlock.
How does attribution work, and how long does the cookie last?
Last click, 90 days. Anyone who clicks your link and creates an account within 90 days is yours, even if they only pay later. B2B buying is slow, and a 30 day window would punish you for that. If two partners referred the same person, the most recent click wins.
When and how am I paid?
A commission is confirmed 30 days after the payment it comes from, which is the refund window. Confirmed commissions are paid once a month, by PayPal or bank transfer, as soon as your balance is above $50. You see every click, sign up and payment in your partner dashboard as it happens.
For agencies, what is the difference between referring and managing?
Referring means your client opens their own Distful account and pays us directly. You earn 20% of everything they pay, for as long as they stay a customer. Managing means you run Distful for them inside your own account, one workspace per client, at 20% off Team and Scale, and you bill your client however you like. Most agencies mix the two.
Can I be both an affiliate and an agency partner?
Yes, and many people are. Pick the program that matches most of what you do when you apply. If you also do the other thing, say so in the form and both are set up on the same account. Audience referrals pay affiliate terms, client accounts pay agency terms, and nothing is double counted.
Do you send leads to agency partners?
When a company asks us to run distribution for them, which we do not do, we introduce them to a partner whose clients look like them. We cannot promise volume, and we will not pretend to. What we can promise is that the introductions go to partners, not to a form.
What happens if a customer cancels or asks for a refund?
Commission is paid on money we actually keep. A refund inside the 30 day window cancels the commission on that payment, which is the whole reason for the hold. When a subscription ends, the commission ends with it. Nothing is clawed back after it has been paid out.
Can I offer my audience a discount code?
No. The offer for everyone is the same: seeing what Distful found inside a source is free, and a full campaign is $49 with no subscription. We would rather pay you 30% than pay your audience 10% and pay you less. It also means your link is never undercut by a coupon site.
